
The Louis Bachelier Institute will welcome, from January 1, 2026, the TREND (S) Chair — Transformation of Retailing Ecosystem (s) & New Market Dynamics for Sustainability, a unique research program in France dedicated to the transformation of trade and the creation of sustainable value in a rapidly changing sector.
Founded in 2019, the TREND (S) chair explores changes in trade by mobilizing businesses, researchers, public authorities and citizens around the same ambition: to understand how trade can contribute to a more sustainable, more inclusive and more resilient society.

At a time when retail players must reinvent their models, respond to environmental challenges and strengthen their territorial roots, a chair dedicated to these themes seems more relevant than ever.
The chair is directed by Isabelle Collin-Lachaud, university professor at University Professor in Management Sciences and Management at Toulouse School of Management - EPE Toulouse Capitole University.
Founder of the chair, she was appointed in 2023 to National Commerce Council as a qualified personality, showing the recognition of his expertise.
Around it, TREND (S) brings together a international network of more than 35 researchers from more than 15 institutions, as well as doctoral students, post-docs and research engineers who contribute to scientific production and operational support to partners.
