
The Louis Bachelier Institute is pleased to welcome a new research program: The Institute of Water Economics (IEE). This program aims to federate a community of researchers working on major economic issues related to water resources, while promoting a constructive dialogue between academic research and public and private actors.
Faced with the challenges of climate change, the scarcity of resources and the necessary environmental transition, the IEE is positioned as a space for analysis, reflection and innovation to rethink water management in a sustainable and equitable perspective.
The work of the Institute of Water Economics revolves around three main axes :
These themes aim to inform public decisions and private strategies, by reconciling economic imperatives, social justice and ecological transition.

The Institute of Water Economics relies on collaboration with its academic partners, the University of Paris Dauphine and the IAE de Paris, as well as on the support of Veolia Water — Compagnie Générale des Eaux.
The program counts 4 doctoral students and 1 post-doctoral researcher, testifying to the research and training dynamic supported by this new chair.
Through its work, the Institute of Water Economics aims to actively contribute to environmental and financial transition of the sector, by providing rigorous analyses and concrete tools to support the transformation of policies and practices.
