Next Primers Series — Onsite in Paris | June 1–6, 2026

We are pleased to announce the next edition of the Primers, returning onsite in Paris.

What’s new?
This edition introduces a major evolution in the programme:

• The first Primer is entirely dedicated to Panesthetic Analysis and Polymodels
• The second Primer focuses on AI & Machine Learning, with a strong emphasis on leveraging and extracting value from panesthetic outputs

Hosted by the Institut Louis Bachelier, the sessions will take place at the iconic Palais Brongniart, the historic former Paris Stock Exchange.

About the Primers

Originally developed for participants of the Real World Risk Institute (RWRI), the Primers are designed to build practical expertise in probability, risk, statistics, data analysis, and mathematical modelling — with a focus on real-world and financial decision-making under uncertainty.

What is Panesthetic Analysis?

Panesthetic Analysis offers a shift in perspective.

While traditional statistical approaches rely on past observations to infer future behavior, Panesthetic Analysis explores a wide range of plausible future scenarios. Decisions are then based on forward-looking estimates rather than historical extrapolation.

This approach builds on key concepts developed in previous Primers, including:

• fat-tailed distributions
• non-Gaussian processes
• nonlinear dynamics
• cross-validation techniques

Polymodels play a central role by generating a broad spectrum of possible outcomes.

The objective is clear: enhance decision-making, particularly in investment contexts.

These rich outputs are then leveraged in the second Primer, where AI and Machine Learning techniques (including neural networks and decision trees) are applied to extract insights and improve efficiency.

Participation

This programme is designed for participants who have:

• a strong interest in learning and exploration
• a sophomore-level background in mathematics, physics, engineering, or computer science (or equivalent self-taught experience)
• no prior RWRI or Primers experience required (though beneficial)
• minimum age: 18

This edition combines advanced conceptual frameworks with practical tools for decision-making under uncertainty.
