2007 Creation of The risk foundation
The Risk Foundation (FDR) was created in 2007 at the initiative of four academic institutions (the Economic Center of Actuaries, the Ecole Polytechnique, ENSAE and the Paris-Dauphine University) and four financial institutions (Allianz (ex AGF), Axa (ex AGF), Axa, Axa, Groupama and Société Générale) in order to contribute sustainably to the development of French research potential in all areas of risk.
2008 Creation of the INSTITUT LOUIS BACHELIER
The Louis Bachelier Institute (ILB) is an association under the law of 1901, created under the impetus of the General Directorate of the Treasury and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations. The ILB forms the ILB Network with the two foundations (IEF and FdR). The Institute takes its name from the mathematician Louis Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Bachelier, who developed the Theory of Speculation. These original ideas were used in financial markets after being linked to the notion of a hedging portfolio proposed by Black, Scholes, and Merton in the 1970s.

2010 Launch of cahiers Louis Bachelier
Published quarterly, the Cahiers Louis Bachelier present the results of research programs, hosted by the Institute and the two affiliated foundations (Fondation du Risque and Institut Europlace de Finance), in a language accessible to a wider audience than academics.
2012 Obtaining the Louis Bachelier Labex
The first ambition of the Labex Finance and Sustainable Growth “FCD” is to guide finance towards sustainable goals.

2013 Launch of the collection “Opinions & Debates”
The Opinions & Debates collection addresses current economic and financial issues through a presentation of the most recent research work. It also provides recommendations in terms of public policies.
2014 Creation of The ILB Data lab
The ILB DataLab is an applied research unit, composed of data scientist engineers familiar with the problems of the financial industry.
2016 10th Anniversary of the Financial Risks International Forum
The Financial Risks International Forum explores the major transformations in finance. Each edition addresses a structuring issue — extra-financial risks, fintech, fintech, climate, Data, AI — with the best researchers and practitioners in the world. An appointment that has become essential to think about the risks of tomorrow.

Creation of the Louis Bachelier Fellows community Launched in 2016, this community brings together researchers and practitioners from academia and business. The Louis Bachelier Fellows are personalities recognized for the quality of their work or their marked interest in research, in connection with the major themes carried out by the Institute.
2018 Reissue of the event “Green Finance Research Advances”
The aim of the day is to bring together academics, financial practitioners and regulators to discuss together research questions related to the integration of climate risks (more generally environmental issues) into macroeconomic modeling/forecasting and in the assessment of financial sector risks.
